“You Can Try, But You’re Not Going to Get Them”: Audio Recordings Expose Parental Alienation, Financial Coercion, and Systemic Hypocrisy in Moyer v. Murray

STILLWATER, Okla., (The Oklahoma Post) –July 13, 2025

Two certified audio transcripts now entered into federal evidence in Moyer v. Murray lay bare a disturbing pattern of parental alienation, financial extortion, reputational coercion, and outright child withholding. The voice at the center of the recordings? Mary Ellen Moyer, the plaintiff’s ex-wife and mother of the two girls caught in the crossfire.

In her own words, Mary Ellen admits to denying visitation, conditioning parenting time on money and apologies, and manipulating her access to public benefits by controlling how much child support Gregory Moyer pays.

Legal Fallout: Civil Rights, Custody Abuse, and Federal Claims

The behaviors captured in these recording, especially the conditional withholding of children based on payments or apologies may constitute violations of state and federal law, including:

• 18 U.S.C. § 241 – Conspiracy against rights: It is a federal crime for two or more persons to conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in the free exercise of their constitutional or statutory rights.
• 18 U.S.C. § 242 – Deprivation of rights under color of law: Criminalizes the willful deprivation of rights protected by the Constitution or U.S. laws by someone acting under government authority.
• 42 U.S.C. § 1983 – Civil action for deprivation of rights: Provides a civil cause of action for individuals whose federal constitutional rights are violated by someone acting under color of state law.
• 18 U.S.C. § 1346 – Scheme to defraud via honest services: May apply if custodial interference is used in a scheme involving court officers or state agencies acting corruptly.
• Oklahoma Title 21 § 891 – Child stealing: It is a felony in Oklahoma to maliciously, forcibly, or fraudulently take or entice away a child with the intent to detain or conceal them from a parent or guardian.
• Oklahoma Title 43 § 111.1 – Custody enforcement and interference: Interference with court-ordered visitation is a violation of Oklahoma family law and may result in modification, contempt, or even criminal sanctions.

Furthermore, the conditioning of child access based on extra-judicial payments may violate Oklahoma Title 21 § 1484 (Extortion), if it involves an unlawful demand under threat or coercion.

In Moyer v. Murray, the plaintiff alleges that not only did Mary Ellen Moyer engage in these acts repeatedly, but that Oklahoma courts, DHS, and named state officials including Attorney General Gentner Drummond, a relative of the Judge, intentionally failed to investigate, intervene, or recuse, thereby becoming part of the systemic deprivation of rights.

In a stunning and deeply disturbing recorded phone call, Mary Ellen Moyer is heard coercing Gregory Moyer to erase court filed allegations and retract public safety warnings—not because they were false, but because they made her and her family “look bad.” Rather than addressing the documented abuse of children, including her own, Mary demands that Gregory “apologize to her father and Kevin,” clear all records, and even delete Facebook posts prioritizing her family’s reputation over the safety and well-being of the children involved. This conversation, preserved in federal court records, reveals a grotesque attempt to suppress truth, tamper with public records, and obstruct justice. Her actions not only undermine every principle of child protection, but they border on criminal coercion and concealment.

We are in a critical stage of Moyer v. Murray, a federal civil rights and RICO case exposing corruption and systemic misconduct across Oklahoma’s legal and political systems. I’m representing myself pro se, but to even the playing field, I urgently need resources. I am fighting against the richest people in the country and their lobby. I am also fighting against a corrupt Oklahoma Government. This isn’t just my fight it’s a fight for fairness, accountability, and the rights of every citizen. Currently I am Ill and cannot make the money that I once did while working for Drummond and Koch. The standard of which I am being held. However, the law is clear…withholding and fraud on court is a felony.

This is me…

I was an abused kid by strangers. One is still unashamedly friends with one of the defendants Corey Rink and is my brother’s father. The other was a serial predator and kidnapper. He is dead. The looser investigator of the crimes went to prison as well. My father went to prison for other things, and my mother, terrified to report what was happening, fled with me to Stillwater, Oklahoma. We literally had men busting into the home and I was hidden in closets under clothes. I am very grateful to my grandma and grandpa Mini and Bill in west Oklahoma who kept me often. Unfortunately, my mom, she was unstable and alienating, and I was left to survive it all. But I got through it. I learned hard lessons early, and those lessons and Jesus carried me.

I went on to earn a solid education through civilian, military, and contractor channels. After my time as a student-athlete at the University of Oklahoma ended, I felt adrift for a year or too as I took everything in over the last ten years of my life. So I did what I knew: I worked. I worked out. I got more education. I worked days for state level government. I worked nights how I could for contract jobs and as an enumerator for the fed gov collecting stats. I was lucky to restart my career in western Oklahoma, eventually returning to the part of the industry where I knew I could make a difference: incident investigation and policy creation. I then worked on the seas in the oil and gas industry trying to focus on foreign owned companies like Hess, BP, Encana Oil and Gas, and Aramco (thankfully my friends warned me and I did not go to Saudi) . I instead built something else.

Years later, I took my first non-contractor job in ages at Koch Industries. What I found there was shocking: a cult-like culture, managed by shallow personalities, obsessed with image over ethics. Parasites on the community. Their so-called “onboarding” wasn’t about values it was about silence. “How to Not Spill the Beans” could’ve been the title. It wasn’t about the truth. The intersection is Pat the Lobbyist and their upper upper management team. I remember the meeting and Pat and the team were cocky bafoons. A “Story” of how they broke the law and then almost got away with it…sept for a few misspoken words.

But everything changed when my own child was abused. I had two children being abused at one time and signs in my youngest that I did not like. The oldest was being influenced by trash. That broke me open again and lit a fire. That was during my full time at home and observing.

Meanwhile, my health deteriorated. I got seriously ill with sepsis and holes in my intestines, but kept pushing through. The stress of withheld children, courts that wouldn’t listen, and hospitals that drained my time and money took everything from me eventually. My epilepsy, essential tremor, and newly developed issues almost took me over. I knew I had to move and start fresh to fight was I was finding to be very shitty and corrupt individuals. Meanwhile these washwipes are smearing my name through internal and public filings. So, I cannot make money nor be with my children. Punishment if you will.

After working relentlessly to support my family and navigate a chronic illness, I was left financially and emotionally drained by nonstop hospital visits and court battles. But the harm didn’t end in Oklahoma, it followed my son to Georgia, where I now must present records documenting how District Attorney Debra Gonzalez allegedly ignored evidence of meth and heroin being distributed by my autistic son’s own relatives. A child who still walked on tiptoes, rocked in place, and had only an 8th grade education at age 18 was abandoned by the very legal system tasked with protecting him. The courts ordered Invega Susttena on a child that was tweaked out by Uncle Ray’s and Aunties Meth as a minor. We know this as a fact. The outcome can be seen in the video below. The guy does not have a clue of what he is saying, but he does have the video that Oconee County refuses to give our family.

Meanwhile, Mary—his mother—demanded $3,000 a month and imposed a barrage of extrajudicial conditions. When those demands weren’t met, she and her father unlawfully entered a storage unit owned by Pam Poe in Stillwater, Oklahoma, in violation of standing orders. Pam, now caught on tape admitting her involvement, initially smirked and invoked her attorney. Only later did we uncover her close relationship with longtime Payne County Clerk Teri Sahs—her walking buddy and likely protector in a web of cronyism that still infects the Payne County court system today.

So, this is not about money really….. It is about hate, kickbacks, and politics. It is about dads and moms…saying…we parent our kids. Ensuring records are correct and that the hate and parental interference are not rewarded or considered funny.

It’s about a system that rewards liars, punishes truth-tellers, and thinks parental interference is a game. I’m here to say: it’s not a game. And I’m not backing down. This activity and ignoring of a fathers rights eventually led to the homicide of Ashley Edmunds Moyer Shutza. There never was an Ashley Smith.

This lawsuit challenges powerful actors including officials, agencies, and private law firms for years of abuse, false records, ADA violations, and retaliation. These people have interfered for ten years now. This is the first time these transcripts are being made public…the state knew of these records. More to come.

In a related class action, we are also taking on Oklahoma Superintendent Ryan Walters for his role in the unlawful sharing of personal data and false information with outside parties.
