Drummond Will Fail Oklahoma

STILLWATER, Okla., (The Oklahoma Post) –

Gentner Frederick Drummond (born October 1, 1963) is an American attorney, rancher, Air Force veteran, and politician serving as the 20th attorney general of Oklahoma. A member of the Republican Party, he is a candidate for governor in the 2026 election.

In a 2013 interview before running for office, Drummond described his politics as aligning with the “business class … which translates to mean that there is a little Republican and a little Democrat in everyone” and noted the importance of the Democratic Party in helping Oklahoma in the 1920s and 1930s, and he also noted the prosperity brought by the Republican Party in the 1980s and 1990s. Federal Lawsuits

Born into the prominent Drummond family in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Drummond graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1985, joining the United States Air Force that same year.While working as a staffer for U.S. senator David Boren, Drummond earned his JD from Georgetown University Law Center in 1995. After returning to Oklahoma, Drummond worked for a local law firm and served as an assistant district attorney in Pawnee and Osage Counties. He later founded Drummond Law and became the principal owner of Blue Sky Bank and Drummond Communications. He also owns and operates a 25,000-acre ranch.

Drummond was elected in 2022, defeating Libertarian nominee Lynda Steele, with 74% of the vote. While in office, he has opposed public funding for religious charter schools and environmental regulations, while supporting capital punishment. On January 13, 2025, Drummond announced he wouldn’t seek re-election and launched a 2026 campaign for governor at a rally in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
