Part I: Breaking Free From Red and Blue: Why Oklahoma Needs Independents

American politics has long been trapped in a two-party system that divides more than it unites. The tug-of-war between Democrats and Republicans is older than most of us can remember, but its results are clear: gridlock, extremism, and a politics more interested in slogans than solutions. For Oklahomans, the time has come to step out of this endless cycle and embrace the independence our state is known for.
The Problem With Two Parties
Oklahoma has witnessed firsthand how the two-party system fails its citizens. For decades, Democrats dominated our state, only to lose touch with the cultural values and concerns of everyday people. Republicans filled that vacuum, promising stability and tradition, but their grip on power has not brought the prosperity or fairness that Oklahomans deserve.
Our schools still rank near the bottom. Families still struggle with healthcare costs. Small businesses still face barriers that keep them from growing. Instead of tackling these urgent challenges, partisan leaders spend more time scoring political points and less time delivering results.
The Independent Spirit
Oklahomans are not followers. We are farmers, builders, innovators, and community leaders who take pride in doing things our own way. That’s why embracing independence in politics is not a radical departure, it’s a natural extension of who we are.
Independent voters are not shackled to national party agendas. They can weigh each issue on its merits and make decisions rooted in common sense, not party loyalty. They can support strong public education without fear of being labeled “too liberal,” and they can promote responsible use of natural resources without being accused of betraying free enterprise.
Independents embody what most Oklahomans already believe: we don’t need Washington insiders to tell us how to live, vote, or govern.
A New Direction for Oklahoma
Choosing independence is about reclaiming our political voice. It means saying “no more” to outside interests, no more to divisive labels, and no more to politicians who take our votes for granted.
Oklahomans deserve leaders who answer to us not to party bosses in D.C. Going independent ensures that policies are written for the people of Oklahoma, not for the interests of the Democratic or Republican machines.
The Call to Action
This is our moment to build a new path. A future where our votes aren’t wasted on a party line, but invested in genuine leadership. A future where education, healthcare, and economic opportunity are Oklahoma priorities, not partisan talking points.
Oklahomans have always been trailblazers. Now, we can blaze a political trail for the nation by rejecting the false choice of red vs. blue. It’s time to stand tall, stand free, and stand independent.
